{"id":402863,"date":"2026-07-16T19:18:04","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T10:18:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/admin-guides\/metadata\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T19:18:04","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T10:18:04","slug":"metadata","status":"publish","type":"admin-guides","link":"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/admin-guides\/statistics\/drive\/metadata\/","title":{"rendered":"Metadata"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div class=\"green lw_tip\"><div class=\"lw_tip_content\">This feature is available after applying for WORKS Drive or the Standard or Standard Plus plan of NAVER WORKS Core.<\/div><\/div><br \/>\nConfigure the application of Drive service metadata templates, Custom Metadata, and folder templates.<\/p>\n<h1>Metadata templates<\/h1>\n<p>Create and manage templates for data fields (metadata) to be added to files.<\/p>\n<p>You can add data in various formats such as text, numbers, dates, single choice, and multiple choice to each template.<br \/>\nA single template can have up to 50 configurations, and you can create up to 150 templates per domain.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Drive' to go to 'Drive'. On mobile, tap <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-46714\" src=\"https:\/\/gsaas-help.pstatic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/2020-07-03-164523.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"16\" \/> to open the menu.<\/li>\n<li>Select the 'Metadata' tab.<\/li>\n<li>Press the 'Manage' button to the right of the 'Metadata Templates' item to go to the 'Metadata Templates' management screen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Create template<\/h2>\n<p>Create a new metadata template.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the 'Add' button at the top right of the 'Metadata Templates' management screen.<\/li>\n<li>Enter a template name within 80 characters in the 'Name' field of the 'Create Template' window.<\/li>\n<li>In the 'Template' field, select either 'Enabled' or 'Disable'.\n<ul>\n<li>If set to 'Disable', it will not be displayed in the Drive service immediately after creation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Press 'Add Component' to add the items to be input.\n<ul>\n<li>Specify the name and property type (text, number, date, single choice, multiple choice) for each configuration.<\/li>\n<li>For single choice or multiple choice, enter the options in the 'Options'.<\/li>\n<li>To add more options, press the add icon to the right of the last option item. You can add up to 20 options.<\/li>\n<li>To designate as a required field, enable the 'Required' item.<\/li>\n<li>You can change the order by dragging the move icon to the left of the configuration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Press 'Create'.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>You can add up to 50 configurations to a single template.<\/li>\n<li>The options for multiple choice configurations can have a maximum of 255 characters per item.<\/li>\n<li>You can create up to 150 templates for a single domain. If you have reached the limit, a notification stating 'Exceeded the maximum number of templates.' will appear when you press 'Add'.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Edit templates<\/h2>\n<p>Change the name, usage, and configuration of a previously created metadata template.<\/p>\n<p>The property type of previously created configurations cannot be changed. If you need to change the property to a different type, remove the existing configuration and add a new one.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press 'Edit' at the top right of the 'Metadata Templates' management screen to switch to edit mode.<\/li>\n<li>Select the name of the template you want to edit.<\/li>\n<li>In the 'Template Configuration' window, change the name, template usage, and configuration.\n<ul>\n<li>Removing a configuration will also delete the metadata values entered for that configuration.<\/li>\n<li>Adding a new configuration will also reflect as empty values in files that already have the template applied.<\/li>\n<li>Existing options for multiple choice configurations can only be edited and cannot be deleted. More options can be added.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Press 'OK'.<\/li>\n<li>In the 'Do you want to change the template configuration?' confirmation window, press 'OK'.<\/li>\n<li>Press 'Save' at the top right of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>In the 'Do you want to save changes?' confirmation window, press 'OK'.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Changes will be reflected in the Drive service within a maximum of 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<h2>Delete templates<\/h2>\n<p>Delete unused metadata templates.<\/p>\n<p>The metadata values of files that had the deleted template applied will also be deleted and cannot be recovered.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press 'Edit' at the top right of the 'Metadata Templates' management screen to switch to edit mode.<\/li>\n<li>Select the checkbox to the left of the template you want to delete. You can select multiple templates at once.<\/li>\n<li>Press 'Delete'.<\/li>\n<li>In the 'Do you want to delete the selected templates?' confirmation window, press 'OK'.<\/li>\n<li>Press 'Save' at the top right of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>In the 'Do you want to save changes?' confirmation window, press 'OK'.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The metadata of any files that had the deleted template applied will also be deleted.<\/li>\n<li>If you press 'Cancel' before clicking 'Save' in edit mode, the deleted template will be displayed again in the list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Change the template usage status<\/h2>\n<p>Temporarily disable or re-enable a previously created metadata template.<\/p>\n<p>If a template is disabled, it cannot be newly applied or searched in the Drive service, but the already entered metadata values will be retained.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press 'Edit' at the top right of the 'Metadata Templates' management screen to switch to edit mode.<\/li>\n<li>Select the name of the template to change.<\/li>\n<li>In the 'Template' field of the 'Template Configuration' window, select 'Use' or 'Disable'.<\/li>\n<li>Press 'OK'.<\/li>\n<li>In the 'Do you want to change the template configuration?' confirmation window, press 'OK'.<\/li>\n<li>Press 'Save' at the top right of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>In the 'Do you want to save changes?' confirmation window, press 'OK'.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h1>Custom Metadata<\/h1>\n<p>Set whether users with edit permissions can directly add text format metadata in the Drive service.<\/p>\n<p>If this feature is enabled, users with edit permissions can freely add text format metadata.<br \/>\nIf this feature is disabled, the Custom Metadata feature will be deactivated, and all previously entered custom metadata will be deleted.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Drive' to go to the 'Drive' screen. On mobile, tap <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-46714\" src=\"https:\/\/gsaas-help.pstatic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/2020-07-03-164523.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"16\" \/> to open the menu.<\/li>\n<li>Select the 'Metadata' tab.<\/li>\n<li>Press <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-37793\" src=\"https:\/\/gsaas-help.pstatic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/icon-n-path.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"18\" height=\"11\" \/> to the right of 'Enable Feature' in the 'Custom Metadata' item.<\/li>\n<li>Enable the 'Enable Feature' item.<\/li>\n<li>Press 'Save' at the top right of the screen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If Custom Metadata is set to disabled, any previously entered metadata will also be deleted and cannot be recovered.<\/p>\n<h1>Apply folder template<\/h1>\n<p>Set whether the metadata template specified for the folder can be automatically applied to all files within that folder.<\/p>\n<p>If this feature is enabled, the Folder Master can specify a template for a folder to apply the metadata template to all files in the folder at once.<br \/>\nIf this feature is disabled, the template application menu will be hidden on the folder screen of the Drive service, but any previously applied templates and metadata values will be retained.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Drive' to go to 'Drive'.
