{"id":53761,"date":"2019-09-26T10:20:28","date_gmt":"2019-09-26T01:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"\/en\/compare-with-folders\/"},"modified":"2025-03-21T17:08:06","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T08:08:06","slug":"folder-comparison","status":"publish","type":"use-guides","link":"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/share\/folder-comparison\/","title":{"rendered":"Folder type features"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div class=\"green lw_tip\"><div class=\"lw_tip_content\">This feature is available after applying for WORKS Drive or the Standard or Standard Plus plan of NAVER WORKS Core.<\/div><\/div><br \/>\nThe differences between Collaborative Drive (collaborative folder, message room folder, shared folder) and My Drive are as follows.<\/p>\n<h1>Collaborative folders<\/h1>\n<p>Collaborative folders are a space for teamwork, where you can store and share all company knowledge and work materials.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the purpose, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/share\/shared-drive\/create\/\">create a collaborative folder<\/a>, and the Folder Master can <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/share\/shared-drive\/manage\/\">manage the sharing scope and other settings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, creating a collaborative folder may be restricted <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/admin-guides\/manage-service\/drive\/general-settings\/\">depending on administrator settings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only the domain members set by the Folder Master have access.<\/li>\n<li>Folder Masters can enhance security with <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/share\/shared-drive\/set-authority\/\">permission setting (edit, read, or access) by folder level<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Can be set to private if necessary for archiving purposes.<\/li>\n<li>Used storage is deducted from the shared storage.<\/li>\n<li>Displayed as <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-163418\" src=\"https:\/\/gsaas-help.pstatic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Group-1000010722.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"23\" height=\"20\" \/>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Note<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Link sharing: To <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/send-file-or-link\/send-as-link\/share-link\/\">share files and folders as links<\/a>, the administrator must <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/admin-guides\/manage-service\/drive\/general-settings\/\">allow Drive's link sharing function<\/a> in Admin, and also <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/share\/shared-drive\/manage\/\">link sharing in each of the collaborative folders<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Moving files and folders: Files and folders in the collaborative folder can only be moved within the same collaborative folder.<\/li>\n<li>Deleting files and folders: Deleted files and folders are moved to the Trash of the corresponding collaborative folder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Shared folders<\/h1>\n<p>Shared folder is a <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/share\/my-drive\/share-folder\/\">folder shared by a member<\/a> who uses My Drive with another member.<\/p>\n<p>When you add a member to your folder, it will appear as <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-220065\" src=\"https:\/\/gsaas-help.pstatic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/ic20_mydrive_share.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" \/> in 'My Drive'.<\/p>\n<p>The user who adds members to the folder becomes the Folder Master.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only the owner of My Drive and the members they add to the folder can access it.<\/li>\n<li>The Folder Master can <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/share\/my-drive\/share-folder\/\">change the permission (edit or read)<\/a> for the members added to the folder.<\/li>\n<li>Used storage is deducted from the personal storage capacity of the user who shared the folder.<\/li>\n<li>Displayed as <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-220059\" src=\"https:\/\/gsaas-help.pstatic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/ic20_sharedrive_share.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" \/> to added users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Note<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Link sharing: To <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/send-file-or-link\/send-as-link\/share-link\/\">share files and folders as links<\/a>, the administrator of the user who added members must <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/admin-guides\/manage-service\/drive\/general-settings\/\">allow Drive's link sharing function<\/a> for personal folders in Admin. Also, the added users must have editing permissions for the shared folder.<\/li>\n<li>Moving files and folders: Files and folders in a shared folder can only be moved within the same shared folder by users with the editing permission.<\/li>\n<li>Deleting files and folders: Deleted files and folders are moved to the Trash of the My Drive of the user who added the members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Message room folder<\/h1>\n<p>Message room folder is a space that can be used by members of a message room with multiple participants or of a Team\/Group Message Room.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/admin-guides\/manage-service\/message\/general-settings\/\">Admin settings<\/a>, the Folder feature may be restricted and the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/admin-guides\/manage-members\/organizations\/add-organizations\/\">Team\/Group Folder must be enabled<\/a> by the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/contacts\/group\/internal-group\/\">Group Master<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/message\/message-room\/group-message-room\/manage-group\/\">team leader specified<\/a> by the administrator.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only members of a message room can access the folders within that message room.<\/li>\n<li>The team leader or the Group Master can <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/share\/shared-drive\/set-authority\/\">set the permission (access, edit or read)<\/a> for each folder.<\/li>\n<li>Used storage is deducted from the shared storage.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/message\/group-folder\/\">Message room folders<\/a> are available for use only when using NAVER WORKS Core product.<\/li>\n<li>Displayed as <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-220068\" src=\"https:\/\/gsaas-help.pstatic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/ic20_sharedrive_message.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" \/>.<\/li>\n<li>You can add message room folders to the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/share\/message-room-folder\/use\/\">list to view them collectively<\/a> in Drive.\n<ul>\n<li>In both the PC web and Drive app, even folders not added to Drive can be viewed by selecting 'Show All Folders', which will be displayed with <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"s_img alignnone wp-image-163291\" src=\"https:\/\/gsaas-help.pstatic.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/msgfolder.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"23\" height=\"20\" \/>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Note<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Link sharing: To <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/drive\/send-file-or-link\/send-as-link\/share-link\/\">share files and folders as links<\/a>, the administrator must <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/admin-guides\/manage-service\/message\/general-settings\/\">allow Message room folder's link sharing<\/a> in Admin. Afterwards, all members in General Message Room folders, and the team leader or Group Master in Team\/Group folders can <a href=\"https:\/\/help.worksmobile.com\/en\/use-guides\/message\/group-folder\/folder-settings\/set-link-sharing-use\/\">set whether to use link sharing<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Moving files and folders: Files and folders can only be moved within the same message room folder.<\/li>\n<li>Deleting files and folders: Deleted files and folders are moved to the Trash of the respective message room folder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Features of My Drive in contrast to the shared storage<\/h1>\n<p><del><\/del>My Drive is a personal space provided to all members.
