Network security

This feature is not available for the Free plan of NAVER WORKS Core.

You can restrict the IP addresses that members can use to access NAVER WORKS services.

However, to ensure stable service management, Super Admin can access NAVER WORKS services regardless of the settings.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Security' to expand the menu, then click 'Network Security' to go to 'Network Security'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. You can change the settings by pressing right to each field.
  3. At the top right, press 'Save' to apply changes.

The following are the detailed descriptions of each field.

Access IP control

Access IP restriction settings

Option Description
Allow access from all IPs
  • You can access NAVER WORKS service from any IP.
  • Set 'Overseas login blocking' to restrict abnormal access (abusing) from abroad.
However, upon setup, all members will be logged out of NAVER WORKS and the access token used for API calls will expire.
Allow access from designated IPs only
  • When connecting to NAVER WORKS via NAVER WORKS' PC web, PC app, Drive Explorer, POP3/SMTP, IMAP/SMTP, or CalDAV, members can access only with the IP allowed by the administrator.
  • However, you can access the mobile app regardless of IP.
  • The 'Import external email' function is not available.
  • However, when set to 'Allow access from designated IPs only', all members will be logged out of NAVER WORKS except on the mobile app, and the access token used for API calls will expire.

Geo-blocking

If 'Allow access from all IPs' is selected in 'Access IP Control', you can set 'Overseas login blocking' to restrict abnormal access (abusing) from abroad.

  • With 'Overseas login blocking' set, you must complete identity verification with your personal email or mobile phone number when logging in with an IP of other than the 'Countries exempt from login blocking'.
  • Applies to NAVER WORKS mobile app, PC web, PC app, and Drive Explorer.
  • However, login from external apps such as CalDAV and IMAP will not be blocked.
  • You can log in without verification in the countries you have added to 'Countries exempt from login blocking'.

Manage IPs allowed to access

Manage the IP that members can access NAVER WORKS.

  • Add IP: Enter a new IP or IP bandwidth in 'Enter IP or IP subnet mask' and then press the 'Add' button. Press 'Save' at the top to apply changes.
    • You can add in either IP or IP bandwidth format.
    • Only public IP formats can be added.
  • Delete added IP: Press right to the IP you want to delete and then 'Save' to apply changes.

Note that if you delete the registered IP and then save, members are automatically logged out of the NAVER WORKS services except on the mobile app.

Access IP restriction exceptions

Members added to the access IP restriction exception list can log in from any IP.

However, the access IP restriction exception is activated only when 'Allow access from designated IPs only' is selected in the access IP restriction settings.

  • Add member: Press 'Manage Exceptions' to open the menu and 'Add Member' to add a member to the exception list.
  • Delete member: Press 'Manage Exceptions' and then 'Delete' right to the name of a member to delete from the exception list.
