POP3/IMAP

This feature is available after applying for the Standard or Standard Plus plan of NAVER WORKS Core.

You can exchange emails by setting up POP3/SMTP or IMAP/SMTP in any of your email clients. The 'POP3/IMAP' setting will not be displayed if the administrator has not allowed the use.

Difference between IMAP and POP3

IMAP is different from POP3 as per the following:

  • Provides support for mailboxes including your personal mailboxes in the form of folders.
If you set up POP3 in any email client, you cannot export emails in Sent Mail, Spam Mail, and Trash.
However, using IMAP supports Sent Mail, Spam Mail, and Trash, etc. in the form of folders in email clients in smartphones, etc.
  • The mailboxes of the server and the email client are synced with each other to match the contents.
For the email clients set up with IMAP in smartphones and other devices, the contents managed and the emails deleted, copied, or moved from your mailboxes will apply the same changes to NAVER WORKS Mail.
Also, you can access the same email account via multiple email clients at the same time. Changes made in one email client will also be reflected in other clients (for the performance and quality of the clients, the number of clients that can be connected simultaneously may be limited).
  • You can preview parts of the email.
When an IMAP program receives an email, you can read the email header and part of the message in advance. By previewing part of email, you can reduce data consumption in mobile environments such as smartphones compared to POP3.
