AI translation helps you translate document files into other languages.
The supported languages are Korean, English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
You can translate the same file again within 7 days without consuming your rate quota.
The file types that support AI translation are as follows:
- MS Office files (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX)
- PDF files (PDF)
- Hangul files (HWP)
AI translation from a list of files
PC Web
- Hover the mouse over the file you want to translate in the file list.
- Click
. - Click 'AI Translate'.
Drive App
- Tap
of the file you want to translate in the file list. - Tap 'AI Translate'.
AI translation in preview (Document Viewer)
PC Web
- Double-click the file you want to open in preview from the file list or click and then click 'Preview' to open the Document Viewer.

Drive App
- Tap the file you want to open in preview from the file list or tap and then tap 'Preview' to open the Document Viewer.

Additional features
PC Web
- You can save the translated file to your device by clicking 'Download' at the bottom.
- You can save the translated file to the desired folder by clicking 'Save to Drive' at the bottom.
Drive App
- You can save the translated file to your device by clicking 'Download' at the bottom. (If file downloads on the mobile app are restricted, the feature will be deactivated.)
- You can save the translated file to the desired folder by clicking 'Save to Drive' at the bottom.
- You can translate a document file that is up to 100 MB with a maximum of 300,000 characters of body text.
- Text embedded in images within a document file is not translated.
- AI translation may slightly change the document’s layout.
- Password-protected document files are not translated.
- Hangul distribution files are not translated.
