Restore or permanently delete a file/folder in Trash

This feature is available after applying for WORKS Drive or the Standard or Standard Plus plan of NAVER WORKS Core.

Files and folders deleted from Drive are moved to separate Trash depending on the original location of folders and files. In Trash, you can view, restore, or permanently delete files and folders that you deleted.

Check files you deleted

You can review files or folders you have deleted from Drive.

However, files deleted from folders shared by others will not be displayed.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Click 'Drive'.
  3. Click 'Trash' on the bottom of the left menu in Drive.
  4. Check deleted files in the 'Deleted by Me' tab.

Drive App

  1. Tap 'More' in Drive.
  2. Tap 'Trash'.
  3. Check deleted files in the 'Deleted by Me' tab.

Check all deleted files

You can view files and folders deleted by you or all members in Collaborative Drives and My Drive.

However, files deleted from Shared Folders will only appear in the My Drive Trash of the user who shared the folder.

Mobile

  1. Tap in Drive.
  2. Tap on the bottom to open Trash.
  3. Tap the folder you want to access and open its Trash.
  4. Check the deleted files.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Click 'Drive'.
  3. Click 'Trash' on the bottom of the left menu in Drive.
  4. Click the 'All Files' tab.
  5. Click on the folder filter on the top left.
  6. Select the folder where the deleted file was located.
  7. Check the deleted files.

Drive App

  1. Tap 'More' in Drive.
  2. Tap 'Trash'.
  3. Tap the 'All' tab.
  4. Tap the top filter.
  5. Select the folder where the deleted file was located.
  6. Check the deleted files.

Restore a deleted file/folder

You can restore files/folders from Trash. Files and folders you restore will move back to their original folder.

Mobile

  1. Tap  in Drive.
  2. Tap  on the bottom to open Trash.
  3. Tap the folder and open the folder's Trash.
  4. Tap  of the file or folder to restore.
  5. Tap 'Restore' to restore the file or folder.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Click 'Drive'.
  3. Click 'Trash' on the bottom of the left menu in Drive.
  4. Check the checkboxes of the deleted files and folders.
  5. Click 'Restore' on the top.

Drive App

  1. Tap 'More' in Drive.
  2. Tap 'Trash'.
  3. Tap  of the file or folder to restore.
  4. Tap 'Restore'.

Permanently delete a file/folder

You can permanently delete files and folders stored in Trash. 

When you delete a file in Trash of the Message Room Folder or Shared Drive, the shared storage capacity in use will decrease as much as the deleted file size. 

You cannot restore permanently deleted files and folders.

Mobile

  1. Tap  in Drive.
  2. Tap  on the bottom to open Trash.
  3. Tap the folder and open the folder's Trash.
  4. Tap  of the file or folder to restore.
  5. Tap 'Permanently Delete' to permanently delete the file or folder.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Click 'Drive'.
  3. Click 'Trash' on the bottom of the left menu in Drive.
  4. Check the checkboxes of the deleted files and folders to delete permanently.
  5. Click 'Delete Permanently' on the top.
  6. Click 'OK'.

Drive App

  1. Tap 'More' in Drive.
  2. Tap 'Trash'.
  3. Tap of the file or folder to delete permanently.
  4. Tap 'Delete Permanently'.

Empty Trash

You can permanently delete all files and folders from Trash at once.

Only the Folder Master can empty the Trash of Shared Drives and Message Room Folders. 

When you delete a file in Trash of the Message Room Folders or Shared Drives, the shared storage capacity in use will decrease as much as the deleted file size. You cannot restore permanently deleted files and folders.

Mobile

  1. Tap  in Drive.
  2. Tap  on the bottom to open Trash.
  3. Tap the folder and open the folder's Trash.
  4. Tap  to permanently delete all items in Trash.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Click 'Drive'.
  3. Click 'Trash' on the bottom of the left menu in Drive.
  4. Click the 'All Files' tab.
  5. Click on the folder filter on the top left.
  6. Select the folder where the deleted file was located.
  7. Click 'Empty Trash' on the top.
  8. Click 'OK'.

Drive App

  1. Tap 'More' in Drive.
  2. Tap 'Trash'.
  3. Tap the 'All' tab.
  4. Tap on the folder filter on the top left.
  5. Select the folder you want to check for deleted files.

  6. Tap to permanently delete all items.

Review deleted folder and restore or permanently delete items

If you are a folder master or user who deleted a collaborative folder or message room folder, you can view the contents of the deleted folder on PC web.

You can restore or permanently delete folders that are not distinguishable by name after checking the internal file list.

PC Web

  1. Click on the top.
  2. Click 'Drive'.
  3. Click 'Trash' on the bottom of the left menu in Drive.
  4. Double-click on a folder.
  5. Click 'Delete All' or 'Restore All'.

Trash retention period

When files and folders are deleted from Drive, they are stored in each respective folder in Trash until permanently deleted after the period set by the administrator.

You can change the setting in the 'Trash Retention'.
