Write emails

This feature is available after applying for the Standard or Standard Plus plan of NAVER WORKS Core.

In addition to text, you can attach photos, videos, forms, files, and stickers to emails.

You can also schedule emails to send or tap to convert the email into a memo.

Below is the most basic way to send an email.

Mobile

  1. Tap in Mail.
  2. Specify the recipient.
  3. Enter the subject and body, and attach files if necessary.
  4. Tap 'Send' to send the email.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Mail'.
  3. Click 'Compose' in Mail.
  4. Specify the recipient.
  5. Enter the subject and body, and attach files if necessary.
  6. Click 'Send' to send the email.

You can open another email while writing an email, or save the email as a draft so that you can open them anytime for further editing.

Mobile

Fields for writing an email.

  • To: Enter the email addresses of the people you want to send the email.
  • Cc: Enter the email addresses of the Cc recipients.
  • Bcc: Enter the email addresses of the Bcc recipients.
  • Subject: Enter the subject of the email.

 

Tapping right to the subject (Android)

  • Select Photo/Video: Attach photos or videos stored in your mobile device.
  • Take a Photo: Take photos with your mobile camera to attach to the email.
  • Take a Video: Take videos with your mobile camera to attach to the email.
  • Select File: Attach a file saved on your mobile device.
  • Select in Drive: Attach a file stored in Drive.

 

Tapping right to the subject (iOS)

  • Select Photo/Video: Attach photos or videos stored in your mobile device.
  • Take Photo/Video: Take photos or videos with your mobile camera to attach to the email.
  • Select File: Attach a document, photo, or video from the Files app on your mobile device.
  • Select in Drive: Attach a file stored in Drive.

 

Tapping at the right in the compose email screen

  • Write Memo: You can convert the email to a memo.
  • Send At: Select the recommended time option or schedule the desired date and time to send the email.
  • Send Individually: Even if you send to multiple addresses, the recipient can send an email so that only their account is visible.
  • Security level
    • Security level: You can select one from 'Restricted', 'Confidential', and 'Non-business'.
    • Expiration date: You can set the expiration period for the email. Emails will be deleted after the valid period.
    • Disable forwarding: Restrict the recipients from forwarding the email.

PC Web

Fields for writing an email.

  • To: Enter the email addresses of the people you want to send the email.
    • To Indiv.: Even if there are multiple recipients, the email is displayed as sent individually.
    • : Shows recently used email addresses.
    • Contacts: Select a contact from the contacts to add to To/Cc/Bcc.
  • Cc: Enter the email addresses of the Cc recipients.
    • : Shows recently used email addresses.
  • Bcc: Enter the email addresses of the Bcc recipients. Click next to 'Cc' for the following fields.
    • : Shows recently used email addresses.
  • Sender's name: You can change the name displayed in 'From'.
  • Subject: Enter the subject of the email.
    • Important: is displayed next to the subject.
  • Security
    • Security: You can select one from 'General', 'Restricted' and 'Confidential'.
    • Expires after: You can set the expiration period for the email. Emails will be deleted after the valid period.
    • Disable forwarding: You can restrict the recipients from forwarding the email.
  • Attach: You can select and attach files from 'My PC' or 'Drive'.

  • : You can change the settings on writing an email.
    • Sender's name: You can change the name displayed in 'From'. It displays the names of the members saved in Contacts and also the names you used in the past.
    • Compose email in new window: You can select 'Use' to open a new window every time you click 'Compose'.
    • Preview before sending: You can preview the email when you click 'Send'.
    • Delay delivery: If set to 'Use', the email will be sent after the set time when you click 'Send'.
    • Default Editor/Font: You can select the types of editor, font, and font size that appear in the compose email screen.
  • : Items other than the recipient and text fields are not displayed.
  • : Open 'Compose Mail' in a new window.

  • Send: Send the email.
  • Schedule: Select the recommended time option or schedule the desired date and time to send the email.
  • Save Draft: Save the email you are composing as a draft.
  • Preview: Preview the email before sending it.
  • Template: Save the frequently-composed email content as a template.
  • Delete draft: Delete the draft in the email compose window without visiting the Temporary mailbox.
  • Memo: Convert the email to a memo.

Add recipients as To, Cc, and Bcc

You can assign people to To, Cc, and Bcc.

For the PC web, you can select the 'Show profile image' at the bottom of autocomplete lists to view the profile photos of the people when entering their names.

If 1 or more external email addresses are included in To, Cc, or Bcc, a banner warning you to be mindful of security is displayed on the email compose screen.

Depending on the administrator's settings, a security warning dialogue may be displayed right before sending the email. However, if the sender is a mailing list (DL) that includes an external email address, the security warning dialogue is not displayed.

You can add up to 500 external email addresses when sending an email.

Add recipients

You can either enter the name of members, email addresses, or search for a group name or a mailing list in Company Directory or My Contacts.

  1. Enter the name of the recipient, mailing list, group name, or team name. The system will automatically search for the contact every time you enter a letter.
  2. Select the contact you want from the autocompleted list.

Add recipients to Cc and Bcc

Mobile

  1. Tap 'To' to show Cc and Bcc. Tap it again to hide.
  2. Add recipients to 'Cc' or 'Bcc'.

PC Web

  1. Click in 'Cc' to show 'Bcc'. Click it again to hide.
  2. Add recipients to 'Cc' or 'Bcc'.

Search in the organizational chart

You can select members directly from the organization chart to add them as To, Cc or Bcc.

Mobile

  1. Tap in 'To', 'Cc', or 'Bcc' fields.
  2. Select members from the organizational chart, and tap 'Confirm'.

PC Web

  1. Click 'Contacts' in 'To'.
  2. Select members from the organizational chart.
  3. Add members to To/Cc/Bcc, and click 'OK'.

Colors for the recipient’s email address

The following are the colors for the email addresses of the recipients:

  • Red: Invalid email address
  • Green: Email addresses set as executives by the administrator
  • Blue: Email addresses of the non-executive members
  • Yellow: Mailing list (DL) address, external mail address

Edit the body

Change the text style

You can change the font size, shape, and color of the text.

Mobile

  1. Select the text in the body to change the font style.
  2. Tap .
  3. Edit the style of the text.

PC Web

  1. Select the text in the body to change the font style.
  2. Change the style of the text by clicking the edit tool.
    Or, click the toolbar above the text field.

Insert a photo

You can open photos stored in your device/computer or use the camera app to take photos to insert in the email body.

Mobile

  1. Tap .
  2. Select or take photos to insert into the body.

PC Web

  1. Click 'Image'.
  2. Select and insert photos from your PC.

You can only insert the photos below the file size set by the administrator.

Edit a photo

You can edit photos inserted in the email body.

PC Web

  1. Click the photo attached to the email.
  2. Click .
  3. Use the functions below to edit the photo:
    Crop
    Rotate
    Text
    Shape
    Draw
    Pixelate

    If you want to revert your photo back to the original, click .

  4. To save the edited photo to your computer, click 'Save to PC'.
    To insert it into the email body, click 'Save to PC'.

Insert a sticker

Mobile

  1. Tap .
  2. Select and insert the stickers you want.

PC Web

  1. Click .
  2. Select and insert the stickers you want.

Insert a form

You can insert forms you created into the email body.

Mobile

  1. Tap .
  2. In My Form, select a form to insert into the body.

Insert a translated text

You can insert a translation of the text you are writing into the email body.

Mobile

  1. Tap .
  2. Select the source and target languages, and tap 'Confirm'.
  3. Check the translation results and tap 'Insert' to insert them into the body.

PC Web

  1. Click .
  2. Select the source and target languages, and enter the original text. Click 'Translate'.
  3. Check the translation results and select the location to insert the translated text.
  4. Click 'OK' to insert into the body.

Currently, the translation is available in Japanese, Korean, Chinese(Simplified/Traditional), French, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian and Spanish.

Insert hyperlink to texts

You can insert a hyperlink to texts in the email body.

PC Web

  1. Highlight the portion of the text you want to insert a link in the email body.
  2. Click from the edit tool or at the top of the compose email screen.
  3. Enter the valid information in 'Title' and 'Redirect' entry fields.
    If you click 'Go to URL', you will be redirected to the web page.
  4. Click 'OK'.

Edit and delete hyperlink

You can edit or delete hyperlinks inserted to texts in the email body.

PC Web

  1. Within the body of the email, click the text of a link that has already been inserted.
  2. Click 'Edit' or 'Delete' to edit or delete the link.
    • Edit: Edit 'Link Title' and 'Go to URL', and then click 'OK'. You can also delete the link by clicking 'Remove link'.
    • Delete: Delete the inserted link.

Attach a file

Attach a photo or video file stored in the device

You can attach photos or videos stored in your device as files.

Mobile

  1. Tap .
  2. Tap 'Select Photo/Video' or 'Take a Photo', 'Take a Video', and 'Take Photo/Video' to attach photos or videos stored in your device.

PC Web

  1. Click 'My PC' in the 'Attach' section.
  2. Select the files you want to attach from your PC.

Attach files stored in Drive

You can attach photos, videos, or document files stored in Drive.

Mobile

  1. Tap .
  2. Tap 'Select in Drive'.
  3. Select files stored in Drive to attach.

PC Web

  1. Click 'Drive' in the 'Attach' section.
  2. Select files stored in Drive to attach.

Attach a file from the previous email

You can attach the attachment from the previous email when replying to the email you received.

Mobile

  1. Open an email, tap at the top and then 'Reply'. Alternatively, tap 'Reply' at the bottom.
  2. Tap 'Yes' in the notification window asking whether to include attached files.

PC Web

  1. Open an email, and click 'Reply'.
  2. On the 'Attach' field, click 'From Previous Email'.

The maximum number and file size of attachments

You can attach up to 100 general attachments when composing an email. Only the administrator can set the maximum file size for general attachments.

When attaching a file that exceeds the maximum file size, the attachment will automatically be converted to a file that can only be downloaded within a limited period.

On the PC web, you can manually convert general files into files that can only be downloaded within a limited period.

The file size and number limits for the files with a download deadline depend on the value set by the administrator.

Write a memo

You can switch the email you were writing into a memo to record your ideas in various formats.

Mobile

  1. Choose one of the methods below to switch an email you were writing into a memo.
    • Tap .
    • Tap and then 'Write Memo'.
  2. Write the contents and then tap 'Save'.

PC Web

  1. Click 'Memo' at the top to switch to writing a memo.
  2. Write the contents and then click 'Save'.
