Group settings

This feature is available after applying for NAVER WORKS Core.

You can select a photo for each Group Message Room.

Additionally, the Group Master can configure the features needed for group management.

Share previous conversations

A Group Master can adjust the settings to share previous conversations in the Group Message Room with newly added members.

The change only applies to new members in the Group Message Room and does not apply to the existing members.

Mobile

  1. Tap in the Group Message Room.
  2. Tap .
  3. Choose whether to share previous conversations.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Message'.
  3. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  4. Click at the top right of the message room.
  5. Click 'Share Chat History'.
  6. Click 'Share Chat History'.
  7. Click 'OK'.

PC App

  1. Click at the top right of the message room.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click 'Share Previous Conversations'.
  5. Click 'Share Previous Conversations'.
  6. Click 'OK'.

Change background color

You can select the background color for each message room to distinguish one another. The background color only applies to your message rooms.

Mobile

  1. Tap in the Group Message Room.
  2. Tap .
  3. Tap 'Background Color'.
  4. Select a background color to set the background of the message room.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Message'.
  3. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  4. Click at the top right of the message room.
  5. Click 'Change Background'.
  6. Select a background color of your choice.
  7. Click 'Save' to save the background color.

PC App

  1. Click at the top right of the message room.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click 'Change Background'.
  5. Select a background color of your choice.
  6. Click 'OK' to save changes.

Select a photo

You can change the photos for each Group Message Room from the message room list.

Group members can change the photos for each Group Message Room.

Mobile

  1. Tap in the Group Message Room.
  2. Tap .
  3. Tap the camera icon.
  4. Take a photo with your mobile camera or select a photo from the album.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Message'.
  3. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  4. Click at the top right of the message room.
  5. Click 'Change Message Room Photo'.
  6. Click to select a photo.

PC App

  1. Click at the top left of the message room.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click 'Settings'.
  5. Click to select a photo.

Along with the name of the message room, photos help you distinguish each message room. Select a photo that well represents the characteristics of each message room.

Change group name

A Group Master can change the name of the group.

Mobile

  1. Tap in the Group Message Room.
  2.  Tap .
  3. Tap the group name in Manage Group.
  4. Enter a group name.
  5. Tap 'Save' to save changes.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Message'.
  3. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  4. Click at the top right of the message room.
  5. Click 'Edit Group'.
  6. On the 'Edit Group' screen, enter a group name.
  7. Click 'Save' to save changes.

PC App

  1. Click at the top left of the message room.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click 'Edit Group'.
  5. On the 'Edit Group' screen, enter a group name.
  6. Click 'Save' to save changes.

Group privacy settings

A Group Master can set the group to public or private.

However, external groups are set as private by default.

Once a group is made public, it will appear in the group list in Contacts. For private groups, only the group master can invite new members.

Mobile

  1. Tap in the Group Message Room.
  2. Tap .
  3. In Manage Group, turn on the Public Group to make the group public, and off to make it private.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Message'.
  3. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  4. Click at the top right of the message room.
  5. Click 'Edit Group'.
  6. On the 'Edit Group' screen, select 'Public group' in 'Privacy setting' to make the group public, and deselect to make it private.
  7. Click 'Save' to save changes.

PC App

  1. Click at the top left of the message room.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click 'Edit Group'.
  5. On the 'Edit Group' screen, select 'Public group' in 'Privacy setting' to make the group public, and deselect to make it private.
  6. Click 'Save' to save changes.

Message, Note, Event, Task, Folder, Mailing list settings

A Group Master can choose whether to use Message, Note, Event, Task, Folder, and mailing list.

However, the mailing list is only available for the NAVER WORKS Core Standard or Standard Plus plans and can be configured in PC Web Contacts and Admin.

Also, external groups cannot use Task.

Mobile

  1. Tap in the Group Message Room.
  2. Tap .
  3. In Manage Group, you can enable or disable the Message, Note, Event, Task, and Folder features.
    Since Note, Event, Task, and Folder can only be used within Message, these menus will not be available when Message is disabled.
  4. Tap 'Save' to save your settings.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Message'.
  3. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  4. Click at the top right of the message room.
  5. Click 'Edit Group'.
  6. On the 'Edit Group' screen, go to 'Message Room Features'. Click 'Use' or 'Do not use' to allow or disallow the use of 'Message', 'Note', 'Event', 'Task', 'Folder', and 'Mailing list'.
  7. Click 'Save' to save changes.

PC App

  1. Click at the top left of the message room.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click 'Edit Group'.
  5. On the 'Edit Group' screen, go to 'Message Room Features'. Click 'Use' or 'Do not use' to allow or disallow the use of 'Message', 'Note', 'Event', 'Task', 'Folder', and 'Mailing list'.
  6. Click 'Save' to save changes.

Disabling Note, Event, or Folder while in use will automatically delete all previous posts, events, and files. Be careful when disabling these functions, as the deleted data cannot be restored.

Notification settings

Notifications for changes in group setting

A Group Master can adjust the setting to notify all members when a group is created, modified, or deleted.

Mobile

  1. Tap in the Group Message Room.
  2.  Tap .
  3. Enable or disable group notifications.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Message'.
  3. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  4. Click at the top right of the message room.
  5. Click 'Edit Group'.
  6. On the 'Edit Group' screen, select 'Send notification' in 'Group notification' to allow notifications, and deselect to block notifications.
  7. Click 'Save' to save changes.

PC App

  1. Click at the top left of the message room.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click 'Edit Group'.
  5. On the 'Edit Group' screen, select 'Send notification' in 'Group notification' to allow notifications, and deselect to block notifications.
  6. Click 'Save' to save changes.

Delete a group

A Group Master can delete a group.

Mobile

  1. Tap in the Group Message Room.
  2.  Tap .
  3. In Manage Group, tap 'Delete Group' to delete the group.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Message'.
  3. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  4. Click at the top right of the message room.
  5. Click 'Edit Group'.
  6. On the 'Edit Group' screen, click 'Delete' at the bottom left.
  7. Read the warning message read as 'If you delete the group, all message history,
    Note, Event, Folder data, and group email address will be deleted.
    ' and check the box.
  8. Click 'Delete' to delete the group.

PC App

  1. Click at the top left of the message room.
  2. Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
  3. Click at the top right of the message room.
  4. Click 'Edit Group'.
  5. On the 'Edit Group' screen, click 'Delete' at the bottom left.
  6. Read the warning message read as 'If you delete the group, all message history,
    Note, Event, Folder data, and group email address will be deleted.
    ' and check the box.
  7. Click 'Delete' to delete the group.

Deleting a group deletes all data stored in Message, Note, Event, Folder, and Mailing List.

Once deleted, you will not be able to restore the data.
