Manage boards

This feature is available after applying for NAVER WORKS Core or WORKS Approval.

Add boards and select screen type to display for each board.

You can designate a Board Manager to manage members' permissions, posts, and comments. The Board Manager can also set exceptions for member access to public boards.

Also, you can group multiple boards into one category.

For the Free plan, you can create 10 boards in total. For the Lite, Standard and Standard Plus plans, you can create up to 300.

Add, edit, and delete boards

Add boards

You can set the board name, description, sharing scope, and type, and designate a Board Manager.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Click 'Create' at the top right and then 'Board'. On mobile, tap .
  4. Enter the board description. Press 'Advanced' to fill in additional information.
    • Board name: The name of the board.
    • Description: The description of the board.
    • Share with: Set members' permissions for the boards you add. Boards are divided into 'All' and 'Members' depending on the scope of members to give board access.
      • All: All members have permission to write and read.
        • Access Restriction Settings: You can specify or remove exceptions for public board access based on members, user types, and teams. However, members designated as Board Managers are not treated as exceptions.
        • Administrators, Board Managers can post: When selected, only administrators and Board Managers are allowed to post.
      • Members: Only designated members have permission to write or read.
        • You can add members with an email address, name of a member, team, and company. Also, you can select permission to grant among read, write/read.
    • Notify of new posts by default: Set whether members will receive notifications for new posts by default. Members can still enable or disable notifications for new posts. However, you cannot change the default settings once you add them.
    • Manager: Designate a Board Manager to manage the board.
      • Board Manager can set the scope to share the board and delete or edit published posts and comments.
      • Board Manager can access the board even without the permission to read.
      • Administrators with permission for the 'Board' service automatically have Board Manager authority over all boards.
    • Permission to post notice: Set permissions to write notice posts.
      • All: All members can write notice posts.
      • Only the administrator and Board Manager: Only administrators and Board Managers can write notice posts.
    • Type: The form of the board to display on the PC Board service.
      • Board, Preview, and Album types are available.
    • Use post reaction: Set whether to use reactions.
  5. Press 'Add' at the bottom.

Edit boards

You can edit the board's name, description, type, user scope, and the Board Manager.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. From the board list, press the name of the board and then edit.
  4. Press 'Save' at the bottom.

Delete boards

You can delete the added boards.

Posts of the deleted board transfer to the Board's Trash and only the Board Manager who deleted the board can restore posts back to another board.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press left to the board to delete from the list. Or press 'Edit' to select the board you want to delete.
  4. Press 'Delete' at the top left.
  5. Check the precautions and then press 'Delete'.

Change board type

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Select the board to edit from the board list.
  4. Select the display type for the post lists from the board setting window. (Board, Preview, and Album Type)
  5. Press 'Save' at the bottom.

Apply templates to boards

Administrators and Board Managers can apply templates to boards.

By applying a template, you can immediately write on the applied template when writing a new post on the board.

However, the template applied to the board is not included when sharing a post.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Select the board to edit from the board list.
  4. Press 'Select template'.
  5. Select a template on the template list.
  6. Press 'Complete'.
  7. Press 'Save'.

Designate Board Managers

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Select the name of a board to edit from the board list.
  4. Enter the name of a member to add as a Board Manager on the Board Manager field of a setting window.
  5. Press 'Save' at the bottom.

Public board settings

Set the board as a public board

Set the board as 'All' to allow all members to use it.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Select the name of a board to make public.
  4. Select 'All' from the 'Share with' section.
  5. Press 'Save' at the bottom.

Restrict public board access

You can restrict access to 'All' boards by selecting members, user types, teams (departments), or groups.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. From the public boards list, press the board name you want to restrict access.
  4. From the 'Share with' field, press 'Access Restriction Settings'.
  5. You can restrict access to teams, groups, user types, and members.
    • Organization: Press 'Add' and then select 'Contacts'. Press and then 'Organization only'. Select the team to restrict access, and then press 'OK'.
    • Group: Press 'Add', and then select 'Contacts'. Press the 'Group' tab. Then select the group to restrict access and press 'OK'.
    • Member: Press 'Add' and then select 'Contacts'. Press , and then 'Member only'.  Select the member to restrict access, and then click 'OK'.
    • User type: Press 'Add' and then select 'User type'. Select the user type to restrict the access to the board and then press 'Add'.
  6. Press 'Add', and then 'Save'.

Grant board access to members

When the 'Share with' is set to 'Members', you can grant access to specific members, teams (departments), or groups to write and view posts.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Select the name of a board to set as a member board.
  4. Select 'Members' from the 'Share with' section.
  5. Add members to grant permission to view the board. You can search by the name, email address, team (department), group, or company name.
  6. You can grant permission to write/view to the added members, team, or group.

  7. Press 'Save'.

Add, edit, and delete category

Add category

You can add categories and categorize boards.

You can press the category name to fold and hide all the boards in the category. This is convenient for managing a large number of boards.

In the board list, categories and affiliated boards are separated by horizontal lines.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press 'Create' at the top right and then 'Category'.
  4. Enter the name of the category.
  5. Press 'Add'.
  6. Check the category added to the bottom of the board list.

Edit category name

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press the category name from the board list and then edit it.
  4. Press 'Save' at the bottom.

Delete category

You can delete the added category.

When you delete a category, boards are released and become uncategorized.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press left to a category to delete from the board list. Alternatively, press 'Edit' to select the category you want to delete.
  4. Press 'Delete' at the top left.
  5. Check the precautions and then press 'Delete'.

Organize board

You can visually organize your board list by indenting or outdenting. Also, you can group similar boards by creating categories.

Indenting boards

Use indentation in the board list to visually organize the parent-subsidiary relationships within the board list.

The use of indent or outdent is only for the visual effects and does not create a hierarchy in the board.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press the 'Edit' at the top right of the board list.
  4. Press left to the board name to outdent.
  5. Press 'Save' at the top left.

Press to cancel the indentation.

Put boards under a category

After creating a category, you can move boards under a category to group them.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press the 'Edit' at the top right of the board list.
  4. Drag and drop left to the board to move.
  5. Press 'Save' at the top left.

Change the order of boards and categories

You can change the order of the boards or categories in the board list.

If you change the order of the categories, the boards included changes accordingly.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press the 'Edit' at the top right of the board list.
  4. Change the order by dragging and dropping left to the category or board.
  5. Press 'Save' at the top left.

Change the order of multiple boards and categories

You can change the order of display by dragging and dropping a board or category in the board list.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board' to go to 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Select 'Manage Boards'. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press the 'Edit' at the top right of the board list.
  4. Change the order by dragging and dropping left to the category or board.
    Multiple categories and boards can be selected to drag and drop.
  5. Change the order by dragging next to displayed and dropping it to where you want.
  6. Press 'Save' at the top left.

Archive boards

This feature is available after applying for WORKS Approval or the Lite, Standard, or Standard Plus plan of NAVER WORKS Core.

You can archive boards you want to temporarily hide from the board list.

Archived boards are hidden from all members' screen.

Up to 100 boards can be archived, but you cannot archive categories.

Archive boards

You can archive and hide specific boards from the board list.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Click the 'Manage Boards' tab. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press left to the board to archive. Alternatively, press 'Edit' to select the board you want to archive.
  4. Press 'Archive' at the top left.
  5. Press 'OK'.

Unarchive boards

You can unarchive boards to display them on the list again.

To unarchive multiple boards at once, the domains of selected boards must be the same.

  1. In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Board'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
  2. Click the 'Manage Boards' tab. On mobile, tap the 'Manage' tab.
  3. Press the 'View Archived Boards' at the top of the board list.
  4. Press left to the board name to unarchive.
  5. Press 'Unarchive' at the top left.
  6. Press 'OK'.
