The first person to create a group becomes the Group Master.
Only Group Masters can add or delete Group Masters or group members.
Add or delete a Group Master
A Group Master can add new Group Masters or remove existing ones.
A Group Master can choose to use features such as Message, Note, Event, Folder, and mailing lists, as well as add or remove members. On the Edit Group page, a Group Master can also add new Group Masters or delete existing ones.
However, for external groups, only members who have external connection permission can be designated as Group Masters.
Add a Group Master
Mobile
- Tap in the Group Message Room.
- Tap .
- Tap 'Group Members'.
- Tap right to the name of the group member you want to add as a Group Master.
- Tap 'Add as Group Master'.
- Go back to 'Edit Group', and tap 'Save'.
If you want to add a person who is not a group member as a Group Master, go to the 'Group Masters' tab, and tap .
PC Web
- Click at the top.
- Click 'Message'.
- Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
- Click at the top right of the message room.
- Click 'Edit Group'.
- Click 'Contacts' right to the 'Group Masters' field.
- Select a member that you want to add as a Group Master.
- Click 'OK'.
- Click 'Save' to add the selected person as a Group Master.
PC App
- Click at the top left of the screen.
- Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
- Click at the top right of the message room.
- Click 'Edit Group'.
- Click 'Contacts' right to the 'Group Masters' field.
- Select a member that you want to add as a Group Master.
- Click 'OK'.
- Click 'Save' to add the selected person as a Group Master.
Remove a Group Master
Mobile
- Tap in the Group Message Room.
- Tap .
- Tap 'Group Members'.
- Tap of the Group Master you want to remove.
- Tap 'Delete from Group Masters'.
PC Web
- Click at the top.
- Click 'Message'.
- Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
- Click at the top right of the message room.
- Click 'Edit Group'.
- Click right to the member you want to delete from 'Group Masters'.
- Click 'Save' to delete the Group Master.
PC App
- Click at the top left of the screen.
- Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
- Click at the top right of the message room.
- Click 'Edit Group'.
- Click right to the member you want to remove from 'Group Masters'.
- Click 'Save' to delete the Group Master.
If you are a Group Master, you can also delete yourself from 'Group Master'.
However, if the group has only 1 Group Master, you cannot delete the Group Master.
A group needs at least 1 Group Master.
Add or delete a group member
A Group Master can add or delete group members.
If you delete a group member, the deleted group member can no longer use the Group Message Room.
However, members can only join up to 2000 groups, and those already in 2000 groups cannot join any additional groups.
For external groups, only members who have external connection permission can be designated as Group Masters.
Mobile
- Tap in the Group Message Room.
- Tap .
- Tap 'Group Members'.
- To add a new group member, tap in 'Group Members’ or 'Group Masters' and add the person you want to invite to the group.
To delete an existing group member, tap from the group member you want to delete, and then tap 'Remove'. - Go back to 'Manage Group', and tap 'Save'.
You can also tap 'Invite' from in the Group Message Room, and then tap 'Select from Contacts' to easily invite a new group member.
PC Web
- Click at the top.
- Click 'Message'.
- Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
- Click at the top right of the message room.
- Click 'Edit Group'.
- To add a member, click 'Contacts' on the right and select the member to add as a group member.
To delete a member, click  on the right of the member to delete. - Click 'OK'.
- Click 'Save' to add group members.
PC App
- Click at the top left of the screen.
- Click the Group Message Room from the message room list.
- Click at the top right.
- Click 'Edit Group'.
- To add a member, click 'Contacts' on the right and select the member to add as a group member.
To delete a member, click on the right of the member to delete. - Click 'OK'.
- Click 'Save' to add group members.
Even after a group member is deleted, messages, events, posts, and files shared by the deleted member remain in the Group Message Room.
Invite a member to an external group
If you have the admin authority of an external group, you can invite members from other companies.
If you invite NAVER WORKS users from other companies, they can sign up using their existing accounts. However, if you invite people who do not use NAVER WORKS, they can join the external group after creating their account.
Invite a member to an external group in Message
Mobile
- Open the External Group Message Room to invite a new member.
- Tap .
- Tap 'Invite'.
- Tap 'Share Invitation Link'.
- Select how to invite the user and share the group invitation link.
PC Web
- Click at the top.
- Click 'Message'.
- Click the External Group Message Room to invite a new member from the message room list on the left.
- Click at the top right.
- Click 'Share Invitation Link'.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite, and click 'Send Invitation Email'.
Invite to an external group from the group management screen
After creating a group, you can use the external group invitation function when entering the group management screen.
Mobile
- Tap 'Home' at the bottom.
- Tap 'Contacts'.
- Tap .
- Tap 'Group'.
- Select a group you want to invite a new member to.
- Tap at the top right.
- Copy your invitation link by tapping the blue link section at the bottom of the invitation link menu.
- Send the link to the person you want to invite.
PC Web
- Click at the top.
- Click 'Contacts'.
- Click 'Group' in the left menu.
- Select a group you want to invite a new member to.
- Click at the top right.
- Click 'Invite' right to the invitation link menu.
- In the group invitation window, enter the email address of the person you want to invite, and click 'Send Invitation Email'.
