You can allow members to exchange messages with external contacts(LINE users, NAVER WORKS users from other companies) by changing the settings.
Chat with LINE users
Enable this setting to allow company members to exchange messages with external LINE users through NAVER WORKS.
For members to exchange messages with external LINE users, permission must be granted by the administrator and LINE users must add permitted members as friends.
Set whether to use
Set whether to allow company members to exchange messages with LINE users.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users
'. - Press right to 'Connect' and set the usage option.
- After changing the settings, press 'Save' to apply changes.
If set to 'Allow', only members permitted by the administrator can exchange messages with LINE users in NAVER WORKS Message. Permissions for members are set in the 'Permissions' section at the bottom.
When you change 'Allow' to 'Do not allow', the existing message room with LINE users will be deleted from your company members' message room list. The members will be displayed as an 'unknown' to LINE users. In Admin Audit, you can search and view the conversation history between LINE users.
- Press right to 'Connect' and set the usage option.
Permissions
Set the member's permission to chat with LINE users.
Permission settings
Set whether to grant permission to chat with LINE users to all members or only to specific members.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users'.
- On the right to 'Permissions' after pressing , select 'Grant to all members' or 'Grant by member'. The following are the detailed explanations for each setting.
Setting Description Grant to all members All members are automatically granted with permission to chat with LINE users without the administrator having to manage permissions separately. Grant by member Grants permission to chat with LINE users only to certain members designated by the administrator. If you want to automatically give new members permission to chat with LINE users, enable the 'Automatically grant link authority to new members' setting.
- After changing the settings, press 'Save' at the top to save the settings.
Add connected members
If you set the 'Permissions' setting to 'Grant by member', you can grant each member with permission to chat with LINE users.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users'.
- Press 'Manage' of 'Permissions' to go to the 'Manage External Message Users' page.
- Press the 'LINE' tab on the connected members management page.
- Press 'Add' to select a member to allow connection to LINE users and then press 'OK' at the bottom to add as the connected-member.
Remove connected members
If you set the 'Permissions' setting to 'Grant by member', you can delete the permission to chat with LINE users for each member.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users'.
- Press 'Manage' of 'Permissions' to go to the 'Manage External Message Users' page.
- Press the 'LINE' tab on the connected members management page.
- Select the connected-member to remove and press 'Delete'.
Reset URLs for connected members
You can reset URLs for connected members in bulk.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Press 'Chat with External Users'.
- On the 'Permissions' field, press 'Manage'.
- Press the 'LINE' tab.
- Select the member to reset the URL, then press 'Reset URL'. You can also press 'Reset' at the bottom of the URL to add external contacts.
Send greeting messages automatically
Change the setting to send an automatic greeting message to LINE users who added NAVER WORKS users as friends. You can edit sales information or greeting messages yourself.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users'.
- Press right to 'Send greeting messages automatically' and then select whether to use the 'Send greeting messages automatically' function.
- After changing the settings, press 'Save' at the top to save the settings.
If you want to edit the greeting message, click the 'Edit' button at the bottom of the greeting message section to open the 'Edit greeting message' page. After editing, press 'Save' to apply changes.
Automatically grant connection permission to new members
Change the settings to automatically give new members the authority to connect with LINE users.
However, this setting can be set only when the 'Permissions' of 'Chat with LINE user' is set to 'Grant by member'.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users'.
- Press right to 'Permissions' and then select whether to use the 'Automatically grant link authority to new members' function.
When set to ON, new members automatically receive permission to connect with LINE users. When set to OFF, this permission is not granted to new members automatically. - After changing the settings, press 'Save' at the top to save the settings.
Restrict file transfer · attachment
When using the LINE connection, choose whether to allow members to share files in the message room with LINE users.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users
'. - Press right to 'File transfer/attachment' and then select whether to use the function.
When set to 'ON', the function buttons for Camera, Contacts, and Drive (Folder) that appear when you press become unavailable in message rooms with LINE users. As a result, members cannot take pictures or send files from Drive. - Press 'Save' at the top right to save changes.
Chat with NAVER WORKS users from other companies
Change settings to allow company members to exchange messages with NAVER WORKS users outside of the company.
For a member to exchange messages with a NAVER WORKS user of another company, the administrator must grant permission, and the authorized member must add the NAVER WORKS user from the other company.
Set whether to use
Set whether to allow internal members to exchange messages with NAVER WORKS users of other companies.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users
'. - Press right to 'Connect' to change the status setting.
- After changing the settings, press 'Save' to apply changes.
If set to 'Allow', only members permitted by the administrator can exchange messages with NAVER WORKS users from other companies in the NAVER WORKS Message. Permissions for members are set in the 'Permissions' section at the bottom.
When you change 'Allow' to 'Do not allow', the existing message rooms with NAVER WORKS users from other companies will be removed from your company's message room list. The member will appear as an unknown user to the NAVER WORKS users from those companies. In Admin Audit, you can search and view the conversation history between NAVER WORKS users from other companies and your company members.

Remove connected members
If you set the 'Permissions' setting to 'Grant by member', you can remove the permission to communicate with NAVER WORKS users of other companies for each member.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users'.
- Press 'Manage' of 'Permissions' to go to the 'Manage External Message Users' page.
- Press the 'NAVER WORKS' tab on the connected members management page.
- Select the connected-member to remove and press 'Delete'.
Reset URLs for connected members
You can reset URLs for connected members in bulk.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Press 'Chat with External Users'.
- On the 'Permissions' field, press 'Manage'.
- Tap the 'NAVER WORKS' tab.
- Select the member to reset the URL, then press 'Reset URL'. You can also press 'Reset' at the bottom of the URL to add external contacts.
Automatically grant connection permission to new members
Change the settings to automatically give new members the authority to connect with NAVER WORKS users from other companies.
However, this setting can be set only when the 'Permissions' of 'Chat with NAVER WORKS users from other companies ' is set to 'Grant by member'.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users
'. - Press right to 'Permissions' and then select whether to use the 'Automatically grant link authority to new members' function. When set to ON, new members automatically receive permission to connect with external NAVER WORKS users. When set to OFF, this permission is not granted to new members automatically.

Restrict file transfer · attachment
When chatting with NAVER WORKS users from other companies, set whether to allow NAVER WORKS users from other companies to share files in message rooms.
- In the left menu of Admin, select 'Service' to expand the menu, then click 'Message' to go to 'Message'. On mobile, tap to open the menu.
- Select 'Chat with External Users
'. - Press right to 'Restrict file transfer/attachment' and then select whether to use the 'Restrict file transfer/attachment' function.
Select 'OFF' to allow members to upload files in the message room with NAVER WORKS users from other companies and 'ON' for the opposite. If you select' ON', the following restrictions apply.- Message rooms with NAVER WORKS users from other companies: Function buttons for Camera, Contacts, and Drive (Folder), Template that appear when you press becomes unavailable in the message rooms with NAVER WORKS users from other companies. The functions deactivate and members cannot take pictures, send files in the Drive (Folder), or create and send templates.
- External group Files cannot be attached in external group notes, events, and folders. Also, you cannot attach a template to a note or set a template on boards.
- Press 'Save' at the top right to save changes.
