Lock files

This feature is available after applying for WORKS Drive or the Standard or Standard Plus plan of NAVER WORKS Core.

When the 'Lock file' feature is used, only the member who locked the file can edit it, while other members can only view it in read-only mode.

However, in Drive Explorer, even the member who locked the file cannot edit it.

Lock a file

Members with permission to edit the shared file can lock shared files.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Drive'.
  3. Click right to the file.
  4. Click 'Lock'.

When you lock a file, will be displayed in the list.

Drive App

  1. Tap of the file you want to lock.
  2. Tap 'Lock File'.
  3. Set file locking.

When you lock a file, will be displayed in the list.

  1. Right-click the file.
  2. Click 'WORKS Drive explorer > Lock'.
  3. Set file locking.
    Locked files are marked with .

 

macOS Drive Explorer

  1. Right-click the file.
  2. Click 'NAVER WORKS Drive > Lock'.
  3. Set file locking.
    Locked files are marked with .

Check file lock information

You can check the lock date of a locked file and the information of the member who locked it.

However, you cannot check the lock information in Windows Drive Explorer.

PC Web

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Drive'.

  4. Click 'File Lock Info'.

  1. Tap of the file.
  2. Tap 'Details'.
  3. Check the lock date and member who locked the file.

  2. Click 'NAVER WORKS Drive > View/Manage Lock'.
  3. Check the lock date and member who locked the file.

Unlock a file

Members with permission to edit can unlock the shared files.

A notification message is sent to the member who locked the file when it is unlocked.

  1. Click at the top.
  2. Click 'Drive'.
  3. Click right to the file.
  4. Click 'File Lock Info'.
  5. Click 'Unlock'.

Drive App

  1. Tap of the file you want to unlock.
  2. Tap 'File Unlocked'.

  1. Right-click the file.
  2. Click 'WORKS Drive explorer > Unlock'.

 

macOS Drive Explorer

  1. Right-click the file.
  2. Click 'NAVER WORKS Drive > View/Manage Lock'.

*1 : In Drive Explorer, the member who locked the document cannot edit it either.
*2 : Upload is available if the file is saved in a different name.
*3 : Drive Explorer does not support unlocking with this permission.
