You can create new folders as well as rename, copy, move, delete, compress, and decompress files and folders.
Create a new folder
PC Web
- Click
at the top. - Click 'Drive'.
- Click 'New folder' at the top in Drive.
- Enter a folder name.
You cannot create new folders in 'Quick Access', 'Recent', 'Important', or 'Shared Links'.
Drive App
- Tap
in Drive. - Tap 'Create > Folder'.
- Enter a folder name and tap 'Create' to make a new folder.
You cannot create new folders in 'Quick Access', 'Recent', 'Important', or 'Shared Links'.
Rename a file/folder
PC Web
- Click
at the top. - Click 'Drive'.
- Click
next to the file or folder. - Click 'Rename'.
- Enter the new file or folder name.
Drive App
- Tap
next to the file or folder you want to rename. - Tap 'Rename'.
- Enter the new file or folder name.
Copy a file/folder
You can copy files and folders to other folders.
On PC, use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V shortcuts for quick copy and paste.

- Click
at the top. - Click 'Drive'.
- Click
next to the file or folder. - Click 'Copy'.
- Navigate to the location to copy in the select location screen..
- Click 'Copy'.
Drive App
- Tap
next to the file or folder you want to copy. - Tap 'Copy'.
- Navigate to the location to copy in the select location screen..
- Tap 'Copy Here'.
Moving a file/folder
You can move files and folders to other folders.
However, the root folder must be in the same location to move files and folders.
On PC, use Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V shortcuts for quick move.

next to the file or folder. - Click 'Move'.
- Navigate to the location to move the file to in the select location screen..
- Click 'Move'.
Drive App
- Tap
next to the file or folder you want to move. - Tap 'Move'.

Delete a file/folder
PC Web
- Click
at the top. - Click 'Drive'.
- Click
next to the file or folder. - Click 'Delete' to delete the file or folder.
Drive App
- Tap
next to the file or folder you want to delete. - Tap 'Delete'.
All deleted files and folders are stored in Trash of the relevant folder.
The following are the storage location for deleted files and folders:
- Files and folders deleted from Collaborative Folders: Trash for each collaborative folder
- Files and folders deleted from message room folders: Trash for each message room folder
- Deleted files and folders from My Drive: Trash of My Drive
- Files and folders deleted from shared folders: Trash in My Drive of the users who shared the folder
To delete files and folders shared by others, you need 'Edit'. All deleted files and folders can be permanently deleted in or restored from Trash.
Compress and decompress files/folders
PC Web
- Click
at the top. - Click 'Drive'.
- Click
next to the file or folder. - Click 'Compress' or 'Extract'.
- Rename the file or folder.
Manage multiple files
You can copy, move, or delete multiple files and folders at once.
PC Web
- Click
at the top of the screen to select all files, or click
at the left of each file or folder to select multiple. - From the top of the screen, you can perform bulk actions including copying, moving, or deleting selected files or folders.
Drive App
- Tap and hold a folder or file, or click
at the top. - From the selection screen, you can select multiple folders and files to copy, move, or delete.
